Choose the construction that matches your retail price point and light-blocking requirement. All available with custom GSM, heading style, and private label packaging.

50–60% light blocking
Plain woven velvet with soft hand-feel and natural drape. Typically 180–240 GSM for standard retail applications. No backing layer — lighter weight, lower cost, suitable for decorative use where full blackout is not required.
Best for: DTC brands, mid-tier home retailers, decorative applications

80–90% light blocking
Black yarns woven into the backing during production — no coating, no added layer. Heavier GSM than single-layer construction, with enhanced light-blocking built structurally into the fabric. Maintains velvet hand-feel on the face.
Best for: Bedroom curtains, retail brands targeting sleep-focused consumers

100% blackout
Velvet face fabric treated with coated backing or bonded with brushed microfiber composite layer. Up to 350 GSM total construction weight. Full blackout performance without visible backing on the face side.
Best for: Hospitality projects, premium DTC blackout collections, certified 100% blackout requirements
Embossed, foil-printed, and custom surface finishes available on request for specific market requirements.
Four reasons DTC brands and wholesale buyers return for repeat velvet orders.
Single-layer, woven black yarn, and coated velvet all maintain face-side softness. GSM customized to your retail price point and drape requirement.
Coated and composite constructions deliver full blackout while preserving velvet drape. No stiff backing — finished panels hang and fold cleanly on track or rod.
Grommet, rod pocket, pinch pleat, back tab, and Ripplefold all supported. Heading switches between orders without retooling.
Source directly from the production floor. FOB Ningbo or Shanghai, no trading company markup.

Seven questions DTC brand owners and wholesale buyers ask before committing to a velvet curtain supplier.
Woven black yarn velvet has light-blocking built into the fabric structure — black yarns are woven into the backing during production. No coating is applied. Coated velvet adds a backing layer after weaving, which achieves higher blackout performance (95–100%) but at an added cost per panel. Woven black yarn is typically chosen for 80–90% blackout needs where a cleaner hand-feel is a priority.
Yes. GSM is customized to order for woven black yarn and coated constructions. Standard single-layer velvet typically runs 180–240 GSM. For heavier constructions or custom backing weight, confirm your target GSM in your inquiry brief.
Standard MOQ for in-stock fabric is 200 panels per style and color. Trial orders from 50–100 panels are available for first-time customers subject to discussion. For custom-woven or custom-backed constructions, minimum fabric run applies — confirm during inquiry.
No — blackout backing is an add-on, not standard. Single-layer velvet ships without backing (50–60% light blocking). Woven black yarn and coated or composite constructions are specified at order — tell us your required blackout level and we will recommend the right construction.
Grommet, rod pocket, pinch pleat (single, double, triple), back tab, and Ripplefold are all standard. Velvet is well-suited to pinch pleat and grommet for DTC retail, and Ripplefold for hospitality and high-end residential projects.
Yes. Coated and composite velvet constructions deliver 100% blackout performance suitable for hotel guest rooms. FR treatment (NFPA 701 and EN 13773) available on request. Most hospitality velvet projects run 280–350 GSM total construction weight.
Bulk lead time is 30+ days from deposit confirmation, including backing treatment, heading construction, and packaging. Container-scale orders (40HQ FCL) typically run 35–45 days. Samples take 3–5 working days.
